Play Kino der Toten in Your Browser

Kino der Toten sends four survivors into an abandoned theater overrun with zombies. This browser build recreates the map in WebGL, and it needs no install, so you can run the stage, the alley and the teleporter straight from a tab. It is a fan project, not a Treyarch release.

Reality checkThe recreation captures the map's shape and the round grind that makes it work, and it is genuinely playable in a tab. Basic lighting and pacing differences are the trade. As a free browser take on Kino, it does the job.

What is Kino der Toten?

The map's layout is what people remember: a lobby, a dressing room, a wide stage with a broken seating area, and the alley behind the theater where the power switch waits. This browser version rebuilds that space in WebGL and keeps the round-based rules. You earn points, buy your way through doors, and turn the power on before the good weapons appear.

What you get is a fan-made recreation rather than a port of the shipped map. Geometry, textures, animation and sound are reworked for the web, so expect simpler detail and different timing in places. The teleporter, the perk machines and the escalating rounds are all part of the loop, which is what most players come back for.

On your first visit, allow the page to load before you click anything. The engine needs a moment to fetch and initialize, and on a slow connection that wait can stretch. Once the canvas is live, lock the pointer, check sensitivity, and start the round. The opening waves are gentle enough to learn the map.

Nothing is hosted on this site. We link to the project page and leave the build in the hands of the people who made it, and we are not affiliated with Activision or Treyarch. When the recreation is updated, it updates on their schedule rather than ours, and the map can gain or lose features without warning.

How to play Kino der Toten in your browser

  1. Load the project page and let the WebGL engine finish starting
  2. Click the play area to lock your mouse, then test your sensitivity
  3. Clear the opening rounds and bank points from kills and repairs
  4. Open the doors toward the stage and keep pushing onward
  5. Turn on the power, then buy perks once the machines light up
  6. Get to the teleporter and hold out until the rounds overwhelm you
Never install anything to play a browser game. Kino der Toten does not need a launcher, an .exe or your account password. If a page asks for any of those, close the tab and play something else.

Tips for Kino der Toten

  • Learn the stage loop early, because circling the seating area is the easiest way to string zombies along
  • Turn the power on before you spend big, since the stronger weapons and perks arrive with it
  • Buy the wall weapon near your training route so you can restock ammunition mid-round
  • Keep a zombie crawling while you open the map, because you can shop in peace between rounds
  • Do not crowd the teleporter with a full train of zombies behind you, since you land where you left

Kino der Toten FAQ

Is this Kino der Toten browser version free to play?

Yes. The project page does not charge for access and we do not either. Downloading the original game is a separate purchase on Steam or a console store, and this recreation is not connected to that.

Does Kino der Toten need my own game files?

No. This build ships its own WebGL content and does not read a copy of Black Ops from your drive. You open the page and play, which is also why the visuals differ from the 2010 release you may remember.

Is this the official Kino der Toten?

It is unofficial and fan-made. Treyarch and Activision have no involvement, and we are not affiliated with either company. The official version remains the Black Ops release from 2010 on the platforms it shipped for.

Kino der Toten will not load, what should I try?

Refresh the tab first, and give the engine more time on a slow connection instead of clicking repeatedly. If it still stalls, turn on hardware acceleration, update your browser, and close other tabs that are using the graphics card.

Can I play this browser recreation on a phone?

The page is built for mouse and keyboard, so a phone is a poor fit even if it opens. Use a desktop or laptop, and if you are on a Chromebook make sure you have an external mouse for aiming.

Is there co-op or an online mode?

The four-player format is the heart of the map, and browser recreations often add a lobby for it. We cannot confirm the exact options, so look at the project page to see whether rooms, invites or public matches exist.
